I work in commercial grading and paving, and I use this site to explain what that work actually involves. My background comes from hands-on projects like new Chick-fil-A and Raising Cane's sites, shopping centers, and restaurant pads across the East Bay. I also write about asphalt maintenance for HOAs, school districts, and similar properties that need to keep their parking lots and drives in service. The goal is plain information: what grading does before asphalt goes down, when existing pavement needs upkeep, and what to include when requesting a quote.
