Daniel Hayes

I work in grading and paving for commercial projects around the East Bay, and I write here about what that work actually involves. My background is in the field with DRT Grading & Paving, where we handle site grading and asphalt paving for new construction like shopping centers and restaurant sites, including Chick-fil-A and Raising Cane's locations. I also write about asphalt maintenance for HOAs, school districts, and other property owners who need to keep existing parking lots and drives in service. The goal is to give developers and property managers plain information about how grading, paving, and upkeep fit together so they can plan projects and ask better questions. Everything I share comes from the kind of jobs our crews do every day in this region.
